The Women's Cell at Bharata Mata College of Commerce and Arts, Choondy, stands as a beacon of support and empowerment for the female members of our college community. Committed to addressing their concerns and promoting gender equality, the cell provides a platform for open dialogue, educational workshops, and initiatives aimed at fostering a safe and inclusive environment. Through collaboration with stakeholders, we strive to empower women with the tools and resources they need to thrive academically and personally.

• Provide a safe space for women to voice their concerns and seek support.
• Promote hygiene habits and ensure a healthy atmosphere within the college.
• Educate women on their legal rights and avenues for redressal of grievances.
• Organize seminars and workshops on women's issues and empowerment.

Women cell was formally inaugurated on 4th December 2015 and named as “AMIGA” by firebrand social activist Ms. C. K. Janu who is widely acknowledged as a crusader against social and gender discrimination.

The women Cell is currently and aptly christened “ABIRA” which means boldness in Hebrew. Without courage, no women can march ahead. We have been trying to inculcate boldness in our staff and students.

Objectives

• Empower women to build self-esteem and assertiveness in all aspects of life.
• Promote awareness and practices for maintaining good health and hygiene among women.
• Host seminars and workshops focusing on women's holistic development and skill-building.
• Advocate for women's active participation and leadership roles in society.
• Foster a multidisciplinary approach to enhance women's overall personal and professional growth.
• Raise social consciousness on gender-related issues and work towards eliminating discrimination against women.
